Over the Road Again
Holy hell it's good to fly again! All that IFR book learnin made me giddy in anticipation of today's task. There are heroin addicts who are looking forward to their next fix less than I'm looking forward to this flight.
Since acquiring my ticket back in August, I've completed a series of successively challenging tasks: DA40 checkout. Complex endorsement. Completion of Multi training in the Seminole. High-performance endorsement. PIC on long XCs in a BE58P. IFR written.
But today I face an arduous task and a mean machine like no other: Fly a 152 into a headwind for 130nm. And back.

Lesson 26: C152 - So this what they mean by slow flight

I lied.
I obsessed about the checkride all damn weekend. It was bad... my wife would be happily yapping away about some marginally important topic like family, or bills, or food and all I could think about was "Please God, please don't let me screw up next Thursday." I even took the first two days of this week off from flying to study for the oral.
So with the checkride scheduled and barely over a week away, I decided it was time to face my demons. I scheduled an intro to spins in the school's C152 with CFI1. O-M-G. Read More...
